🐾 Meet My Support Team: Groot & Rocket 🐾

Every author needs a little help sometimes — and luckily, I have two of the best assistants around. Sure, they have fur, four legs, and a deep disdain for deadlines, but Groot (left) and Rocket (right) are the heart (and chaos) of my writing world.

Groot takes his job as emotional-support specialist very seriously. His duties include:

• Curling up in my bed (in my spot) when inspiration strikes.

• Offering judgmental side-eyes during dramatic plot moments.

• Making sure I never forget it’s treat time (his, not mine).

  
  

Rocket, on the other hand, handles all things motivation. Her specialties?

• Whining — which she insists provides the perfect emotional soundtrack for my writing sessions.

• Supervising edits while resting her head on my lap.

• Reminding me to get up and move once in a while — usually because she wants to chase lizards on the patio.

Between the two of them, I’ve got a full-time support team who keep my days full of love, laughter, and a little bit of fur on every single thing I own. Writing can be sort of a lonely job sometimes, but there's no shortage of kisses with these two around.
