What I’m Working on (and What’s Still a Mess)

The internet is great at making it look like everyone else has a perfectly mapped-out plan.
I do not.
What I do have is a half-finished reader magnet, a blog that’s younger than I intended, and a writing life that’s very much happening in real time.
To be completely honest, the beginning of this new year was… rough. A surprise trip to urgent care knocked the wind out of me—physically and mentally—and forced everything into slow motion. Not catastrophic, but enough to remind me that bodies get a vote, whether we like it or not.
So if you’re wondering why things feel a little scrappy around here, that’s why.
Here’s what I’m currently working on:
The reader magnet (yes, still). It exists. It’s just not finished. Progress is happening in small, stubborn increments.
My next round of revisions for novel #3, which are equal parts exciting and humbling.
This blog, imperfect but alive. Four posts isn’t nothing, even if my inner critic disagrees.
And here’s what’s still a mess:
Consistency.
Deadlines that don’t survive contact with real life.
That magical “I’ll just sit down and focus for three uninterrupted hours” fantasy. Been there?
I used to think I needed everything buttoned up before showing up publicly. Turns out, showing up while it’s messy is the only way anything actually gets done.
If you’re also easing into the year a little bruised, behind schedule, or just tired—hi. You’re not alone.
We can build things slowly. We can take breaks when life demands it. And we can still move forward, even if it’s not as pretty as we had hoped.
More soon. Hopefully with fewer urgent care visits and a finished reader magnet....or news that I've hit the Powerball jackpot.😉
